We're going on an Egg Hunt!

Last Saturday we had the "Big Bunny Party" at church.  Autumn had a blast and Olivia seemed to enjoy all of the commotion too.  The party included Easter Egg drops every 30 minutes (they literally dropped Easter eggs from a crane way up in the sky), a Big Bunny Show, and tons of Moon Walks.  We had a hard time getting Autumn out of the princess moon walks.  She loves to jump.

Today Autumn had Picture Day and her Easter Egg hunt at school.  It was a busy morning.  I was able to take the morning off and be there for pictures and the hunt.  Unfortunately my Canon battery was plugged in at work, so even though I actually thought to bring my nice camera I was still stuck taking photos on my iPhone.  Oh well.

In other news, I started Olivia on rice cereal.  She seems to be doing pretty well with it.  She is still more interested in eating her hand and she still pushes the spoon out with her tongue a bit, but I can tell she is eating some.  This girl has been super hungry lately too.  One night this week she woke up around 11:30 hungry.  Very unusual for her.  She is also taking a full bottle (around 4-6 oz) AFTER I nurse her at bedtime, which means she is taking in 8-12 oz.  CRAZY!  I think we have a growth spurt coming soon.

Andrew picked up his MS150 team jersey on Sunday.  I'm excited for his ride.  I'm taking off the Monday afterwards and the girls and I are meeting him in Austin that Sunday and spending the night.  Should be a fun weekend.

Like my new Spring wreath?  I LOVE it.  It's actually so much more than a Spring wreath.  I should be able to keep it up nearly year round.

Meet Nicol

For Autumn's 2nd birthday I decided to sponsor a child in her name through www.compassion.com.  I chose a little girl named Nicol from Bolivia.  Nicol's birthday is the same date as Autumn's, but she is two years older than Autumn.  Nicol lives with her Abuelito (Grandpa).  Her grandma passed away in 2012, and they were very close.  I have no idea how much her mother and father are involved in her life.  I did receive one letter from her mother, so it appears she is at least somewhat involved.  I received a letter this morning from Nicol, written by her tutor.  Nicol had also added some drawings of her own on the letter.  She drew a picture of her favorite person, Abuelito.  Her letter made me cry.  She is so little and she has so much less than our little girls.  I think her letter made me cry mostly because it was written by her tutor rather than a parent or grandparent.  Nicol probably doesn't have a quarter of the loved ones surrounding her that our girls have.  I hope that the little bit that we provide for Nicol is able to affect her life in a positive way.

Autumn at 29 Months Old

I was toying around the blog today, looking at old posts.  I am so glad I have used this blog to keep track of things going on in our lives.  It's so nice to look back at old pictures of Autumn or my monthly posts about her growth.  I am looking forward to having an even better record of Olivia's first year.  Anyways, all that looking around made me want to do an update on Autumn.  She is now 29 months old and is very much moving from toddler to preschooler.  The other day Tia and I picked her up from school and Tia was blown away, but Autumn's speech and vocabulary.  If you haven't been around her much in a few weeks or months then you will be amazed at how much of a little person she is becoming.  Here are some stats and pics updates:

  • Height - don't have any idea, although she still seems a little tall compared to some of the other kids in her class.
  • Weight - 27 lbs according to my scale
  • Clothes - mostly in size 2T, but she wears some 3T's, especially in PJ's
  • Potty Training - she does great using the potty, but she doesn't always tell us when she needs to go.  We're trying to have her wear only panties on the weekends and she has done pretty well.  The other day we went to the galleria and she ran over to the water feature.  It shoots water down from above the 2nd floor to a fountain down below.  As she is watching the water feature she starts peeing in her panties.  Great!  It wasn't too horrible and practice is the only way she is going to learn.  We run out of diapers in the next month or so and I have cancelled any future orders.  Once we run out then we switch full time to panties - at least that is the plan.
  • I don't know if I ever updated it on here or not, but Autumn quit using her pacifier on New Year's Eve.  We just took it away and didn't give it back ever.  She has done pretty good without it.
  • Likes - Autumn loves her baby dolls, especially her princesses.  She has a baby Ariel and a baby Cinderella doll and she calls them Baby Autumn and Baby Lilly.  She is FINALLY saying her name and she will even say Autumn Walker when prompted.  She also knows my name is "Manda".  Autumn also loves Minnie Mouse, Doc McStuffins, Little Einsteins and of course her Mimi.  She is very attached to Mimi.  Autumn loves to color, paint, play with play dough and bubbles.  Autumn also loves to play dress up, like princesses of course.  Autumn loves going to the park and will often ask if she can go to the outside park or the inside park (chick-fil-a).  Autumn is a Daddy's girl and she loves playing with him and being tickled and thrown around by him.  She still says Daddy is her prince.

Rodeo Time!

Drinking her "coffee" as she calls it.

She likes to pick out her own clothes and they have to match of course!

Olivia at 4 Months Old

So, Olivia is already 4 1/2 months old and I am just now getting around to posting her 4 month pics and stats.  Here we go:

  • Length - 24 inches - 25th percentile
  • Weight - 12 lbs 13.5 oz. - 50th percentile
  • Head - don't remember measurement - 25th percentile
  • Diapers - Size 2
  • Clothes - moving out of 0-3 and into 3-6, she has some 6-12 month clothes that she can wear as well
  • Developments - Baby O isn't rolling over yet and the doctor said she was delayed in this, but from what I have read on-line she isn't really delayed unless she isn't rolling over and sitting up by 6 months.  She can roll from her back to her side and Mimi said she rolled from her back to her front the other day.  She just doesn't love tummy time and I'm not very good about making her do it, so she hasn't really had the opportunity to learn to roll over.  We're working on that though.  We're trying to do tummy time 3-5 times a day.  She usually does really well at least one of those times, staying on her tummy and happy for a good 15 minutes.  The other times she just fusses and cries.  She is also spending some time in the activity center these days.  She is learning to reach and grab things.  She loves to chew on her hands and feet and I am convinced that she is teething.
  • School - Olivia started at daycare on March 1st.  She is at the same school as Autumn and she goes to school on M,W, and F.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays she stays home with Mimi.  She enjoys her school and the teachers have said that she is doing very well.  No issues with separation anxiety or anything like that.  Today I ran up there to drop off a couple of pacifiers for her, since we had forgotten to send any.  When I got there she was in a buggy ride outside.  They have a little red buggy that seats about 6 kids and they will push them around the building and outside as well.  I love their school and I have been very happy with the care that both girls have received.  It's nice to know that they are loved on and experiencing fun and new things while I am away from them.
Olivia, you are such a sweet and easy going baby.  We have been so blessed to have you in our family and we are loving watching you grow every day.

Tummy time with her cousins.

Hanging out with Big Sis.

Olivia enjoying her new activity center.
Sadly, I think Autumn likes it more than she does.

4 Months

"Do I have to pose in this chair Mommy?"

"Bunny chair and playing with my hands, much better."

"Yummy hands."

"What are you looking at Minnie?"

"Oh look I found some hands!"

"This is so not comfortable Mommy.
I'm convinced she's going to drop me like one of her baby dolls."

"Seriously Mommy she's going to drop me and then we're both going to cry!"

No blog post is complete without some silly pictures of Autumn.

Happy St. Patrick's Day Everyone (we're only a couple days early)!
