Pregnancy so far

Andrew and I went to my doctor's appointment yesterday.  We had our second ultrasound and baby is looking good.  Baby is measuring 11 weeks and 1 day, so they are keeping my due date at November 8th.  Baby's heart rate was 154 bpm, which they said was good.

So far this pregnancy has been completely different.  With Autumn I felt pregnant very early on.  I could feel and see changes in my body.  This time around I did not start to feel pregnant until around 6 or 7 weeks when the nausea began.  The nausea has been so much worse this time around.  I've actually been on anti-nausea medicine (generic version of Zofran).  It has helped some, but I still feel gaggy a lot and weird smells bug me.  I haven't taken any belly pics yet, but I keep meaning to.  Maybe soon.

So far I have only gained 2-3 lbs and I can still fit into most of my clothes, although certain things are starting to feel snug (goodbye 00 jeans).  Other than the nausea I don't really feel very pregnant, so it is nice to have an ultrasound and see that baby is still there and doing good.  Baby was moving around during the ultrasound too, which was fun to see.  I can't wait to find out the sex of the baby.  It looks like we will find out during the 20 week ultrasound sometime in mid-late June.

The timing of this pregnancy is very deja vu, because it is almost exactly 2 years after my pregnancy with Autumn.  My original due date with Autumn was November 1, 2010.  She was born on October 12, 2010, so I have a strong feeling that this baby will be an October baby as well.  We shall see.

Since I have been so sick this pregnancy my eating and working out habits have been crappy at best.  I am trying to get back on track.  My goal is not to gain 45 lbs this time around.  I would really like to only gain the recommended 25 to 35 lbs.  Seems like a reasonable goal, assuming I can start working out at least occasionally and avoid fast food joints.

Here are some ultrasound pics.

18 Months

Last Thursday Autumn was 18 months old.  Man, time flies!  We had her 18 month checkup and here are her stats:

  • Height - 31 inches, 26th percentile
  • Weight - 21 lbs  4 oz., 12th percentile
  • Head circumference - 46 cm, 25th percentile
Baby girl is getting big!  Here are some of the things she is doing at 18 months:
  • Talking like crazy!  Some words include: bubbles, Mama, Dada, Bubba (aka Cooper), bathtub, Elmo, Abby, done.  I know there are more, but we're still trying to decipher so much of what she says.
  • She enjoys coloring.  Specifically she is into pointellism.
  • She is not just walking, but running everywhere.
  • She loves getting into the laundry basket and being pushed around the house.
  • She loves slides and swings.
  • She likes to hug Bubba and Cookie.
  • She eats pretty much everything.
  • She knows most of her body parts: nose, ears, eyes, tummy, hands, feet, etc.  She loves to show you her body parts when you ask where they are.
  • Autumn loves to clap for herself when she does soemthing good, like when she correctly identifies a body part or throws something in the trash.
  • She is an organizer.  Her favorite activity is moving things from one container to another and back again.  She organizes toys, shoes, markers, chalk, etc.
  • Autumn is wearing size 12-18 month clothes, size 4.5 shoes, and size 4 diapers.
  • Autumn is starting to tell us when she needs her diaper changed.
  • She does great at school.  Daddy insists that she is a teacher's pet because one teacher or another is always holding and hugging her.  She doesn't cry when we leave her at school or the church nursery, which is very nice for us.  She seems to play well on her own and gets along with other kids, but we're definitely going to have to work on the concept of sharing.
  • We're starting to explain the new baby to Autumn, but she doesn't understand much yet.
  • She is about to move into a toddler bed.  Wish us luck!
Autumn is such a sweetie and she brings so much joy to our lives.  We love you sweet girl!

Pancake Saturdays

I like the idea of traditions and so one tradition I am trying to do is "Pancake Saturdays".  Most Saturday mornings I get up and make us a pancake breakfast.  It's simple, from a box, not from scratch, but I think we all enjoy it and it is a fun time to eat together as a family.
